Suzanne Stratford

Suzanne is a general and special assignment reporter who has won 8 Emmys with additional nominations for her reporting and news anchoring at WJW Fox 8 News.

For 8 years you could find her anchoring weekends at Fox 8, but now you can see her Monday through Friday nightside.

She loves meeting people and sharing their stories. One such story several years ago inspired her to research, create, and produce a television show based on children and their stories of reincarnation. The show is called, “The Ghost Inside My Child.”

Prior to joining FOX 8 in September 2000, Suzanne Stratford served as both reporter and back-up anchor for WSYX-WTTE in Columbus, Ohio.

Occasionally you could also catch her forecasting the weather. Suzanne began her career as a journalist at WKBN in Youngstown, where she was a weekend anchor, reporter and weather-caster.

A NE Ohio native, Suzanne is a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications with a minor in English and journalism from Youngstown State University.

Suzanne has been active in environmental causes and women’s organizations, and is currently volunteering with the Renee Jones Empowerment Center to stop human trafficking, and she has also volunteered reading to the blind.

Before beginning her career in broadcasting, Suzanne served as a SGT in the Army National Guard for eight years and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. During the Gulf War, she served as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare Specialist. She earned commendations for both physical fitness and service overseas.

Born on August 30th, Suzanne is also an ultra-marathon runner who enjoys reading, painting and most of all- spending time with her family, friends and puppies.
